Executive Council nominations

In accordance with bylaws of the Australia and New Zealand Falls Prevention Society (ANZFPS), https://www.anzfallsprevention.org, nominations for the following ANZFPS Executive Council positions are now open to the general membership:

  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Communications Manager
  • Executive Member (five positions including at least one member from New Zealand)
  • Early Career Researcher Member (including students currently enrolled in a post-graduate degree and up to 2-years post-PhD)
  • Mid-Career Researcher Member (between 2-10 years post-PhD)
  • Indigenous Member – Maori/Pacifica
  • Indigenous Member – Aboriginal/Torres Strait
  • Nominations for President are also open, but nominees need to have served at least two years on the Executive Council to stand for this position. The Early Career Researcher Member can be an individual currently enrolled in a post-graduate degree.

Elected representatives will serve a term of 2 years and are eligible for re-election. If you attended the ANZFPS conference in Perth in 2023 you are deemed a member of ANZFPS and are eligible to nominate for available positions.

Nominations close on Friday 24th October 2025 and require a seconder from a current ANZFPS member. Please contact the Secretary (Anna Hatton, a.hatton1@uq.edu.au) or President (Kim Delbaere, k.delbaere@neura.edu.au ) if you need assistance with this or would like to discuss the roles.

Nominees are required to submit a 300-word biography / election bid to be included on the website; to be emailed directly to the Secretary. 

The election for Executive Council positions will be held during the Annual General Meeting at the 2025 ANZFPS Conference in Sydney (November 2025).  The announcement of successful nominations will be made at the conclusion of the conference and will also be communicated via email to the wider membership and posted on the ANZFPS website.
